Messages in My eBox can have the status “Read” or “Read on [date]”.
- “Read” means that you have opened the message.
- “Read on [date]” means that you have opened the message and shows the date on which you first opened it.
So now you have all the information regarding when the message was received, how long it remains valid, and when you first read it
Why do I sometimes see “Read” and sometimes “Read on [date]”?
You will always see “Read” when you have opened a message. Sometimes, you may also see the date as extra information. This is a recent feature and is not yet available for all messages. Some partners still need to update their systems before this date can be shown.
Older messages may also not show the date, because this feature did not exist yet when those messages were created. That’s why you may see “Read on [date]” for some messages, but only “Read” for others.
eBox Law & Senders
In implementation of the eBox law, FOD BOSA records whether and when a message in your eBox has been consulted. This information is put at the disposal of the sender* of the message, so he can decide to take action when a message has not yet been read. For example, he may decide to send a reminder or provide the message again electronically or on paper. This helps reduce the risk of missing an important message and any potential disadvantages resulting from not consulting it in time.
